A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Hiya, I'm Min. This is my first game as well as my first game jam, so please go easy on me : ^). A lot of things went wrong and I nearly couldn't export it, and I kind of gave up in the middle :') but I still hope you get at least a little bit of enjoyment out of it. The theme 'Less is More' was applied in the following ways:
> simplistic art style
> lack of physical rewards
> progress that is more than it seems
ciao~

Yo this shit is wicked, good job man I'm impressed
thanks :D
Really nice small game you've made for the Blackthornprod game jam. Sadly it seems like you didn't submit your game to the game jam in the end. As I couldn't find it on the Jam Page and it should be shown on the sidebar as "Submission to Blackthornprod Game Jam".
Now let's talk about the gameplay. If you want to further work on this game I would definitely recommend to either add that the player dies when he leaves the camera view. So that you don't fall off and land on a platform further below and get stuck because you don't see yourself (A restart button would work to put is definitely less polished).
Then 2nd thing would be, if you want to create more levels you should definitely start using prefabs because as it seems in your video you simply placed every single block by hand and added collision for them. Instead of that time consuming task you could create a prefab with a collision for each block you've made and then simply scale that instead of putting the sprite into the game scaling that and adding collision boxes each time.
Also you would definitely fix the current jumping as you can do that indefinitely I'm strongly guessing that something is wrong with your jump code and perhaps you are not detecting when the player is on ground again and can therefore jump.
Besides that tough really nice game, even tough you are still a beginner in Unity the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of the game are amazing and make the game a very enjoyable experience overall. Very well done especially for your first game jam entry. I've made much worse when I first started making games.
The fact that it didn't get submitted to the jam is really saddening... it's weird, I was so sure I submitted it... oh well
Thank you for the detailed feedback~ I don't plan on updating the game but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree with you on the dying and the prefabs and the jumps. Why didn't I use prefabs?? I'm kicking myself lmao.
Thanks again :)
